It’s been a real long time since I wrote anything, and now just seems like such a natural time to do it. I’m sitting in the airport in orlando, after a literal series of unfortunate events, starting at exactly 4:43 pm yesterday. It’s really been a downward spiral from there, but this airport is a really nice place. I’m sitting in a starbucks drinking black coffee (lukewarm) and listening to some music I haven’t heard in a while. Everyone around me is sleeping in their chairs, I guess they got decaf. I wrote about 28 songs in the last year, which isn’t a lot, but, if you know the kind of symbiotic relationship i’ve had over the last year, you’d probably wonder when I even had the time to do that – whatever. I sold my guitar amp, and I’m moving to brkln or brln in the next 4 months, whatever, dude. I’m ready for it. but before that, I have this little ep of songs I’d like my friends to hear. I just don’t know what songs to put yet… songs about being stuck in an airport for 9 hours feeling as lonely as I ever have? songs about all the great friends I realized I had in this time (and family members)? maybe how my mom ruined my relationship on facebook by liking the status? or just about how ernest hemingway was a songwriter. it’s all eternally up in the air, but hopefully soon I can write about being at the beach.
